Donald Rhea Bostwick

On April 5, 2024, Donald Rhea Bostwick, II passed away peacefully at home on Tybee Island with his four children at his side. Don was born in Savannah, Georgia. Later he joined the U.S. Air Force where he served for four years. After his service, Don married and moved from Savannah to Tybee Island where he raised his four children. During his younger years on Tybee Island, Don volunteered as a firefighter, served as a Deacon at Chapel by the Sea, coached youth baseball teams, and mentored many young men through his faith and love of the outdoors. He worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and retired after 33 years. While retired, Don captained several charter boats off the coast of Tybee Island.

Don was preceded in death by his father and mother Donald Rhea Bostwick and Beryl Bostwick; his three sisters Joe Fields, Ann Long, and Beryl Smith; his wife of 25 years Sally Bostwick; his wife of 16 years Lorene Bostwick; his wife of 24 years Becky Bostwick; and his son-in-law Jeffrey Marlow.

Don is survived by his four loving children Donald Bostwick, III (Rhonda), Jimmy Bostwick (Lynn), Leslie Bostwick Marlow, and Cone Bostwick; his six grandchildren Sarah Nesmith, Danny Bostwick, Camilla Bollig, Jimmy Bostwick, Donnie Bostwick, and Mary Russell; his seven great-grandchildren; and his Spanish Hammock neighborhood “family.”

Visitation will be held on from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel.

A memorial service will be held at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel (4605 Highway 80, Savannah, Ga 31410) at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 11, 2024. The family will host a celebration of life immediately following the service at Don’s home on Tybee Island.
